Opening this Friday Gallery 1988 presents ‘CRAZY4CULT 7- Back in New York’. I am beyond amazed that I am capping off my final exhibition of the year in New York city with a piece based on ‘Home Alone 2 - Lost in New York’.
Printed by the lovely people at Fire Printing in the Copper House Gallery these are archival pigment prints on Hahnemühle Fine Art archival paper, edition of 10 and will available on the night from the exhibition and form gallery1988’s website sometime next week depending on how many are left.
Enjoy and Merry Christmas you Filthy Animals!
Opening this Friday Gallery 1988 presents ‘Required Reading’ a group art show based on popular literature. One of many reasons why the movie alphabet has been so sporadic but will be worth the wait once its done. I couldn’t say no to a chance to get to interpret one of my all time favourite books. See if you can guess what book it is and leave it in the comments below.
‘CRAZY 4 GARY’
My contribution to Gallery 1988’s 'Crazy 4 Cult: Say Hi to the Bad Guy’ show opening October 18th in Los Angeles.
I am super thrilled to be a part of something I’ve been in awe of for years, for those of you who don’t know Crazy 4 Cult is like the Kentucky Derby of Pop Culture inspired art shows. It’s a big thing, in my books a Big Big Thing and I get to have a little space of it devoted to my work *squeals with joy!
Now without further over zealous jumping, my piece is called 'CRAZY 4 GARY’ and is a set of four of Gary Oldman’s greatest screen villains. Zorg from Fifth Element, Stansfield from Léon, Drexel the Pimp from True Romance and Dracula from Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
You can buy each character as a pigment print individually (I am only doing runs of 5 of each character) or you can splash out and purchase the set of four at a discounted rate. They make great presents coming up to the holiday season :-)
I am sickened I can’t attend the opening of this show but delighted to be apart of it. If you are in Los Angeles in the next month you will not be disappointed if you go for a gander.
Coming up next week I’ll be returning again to my movie alphabet as well as revealing a poster which I will be exhibiting up in Dirty ole Dublin, keep your eyes pealed!
